Hi Farm and Forge Team,
I wanted to give everyone an update on the timing and direction of our new software development initiatives at Farm and Forge. Attached is a PDF with a longer breakdown of our goals, processes, and timelines, but the short version is below:
- We have completed the initial rounds of requirements gathering and software architecture design, and begun the process of developing our new software.
- We have augmented our software development team: Mark Eikel will join Farm and Forge on June 29 as a full time web application developer, and Rush Gorney will be joining us on July 8 part-time as an intern, primarily focused on user interface design.
- The primary focus of our initial work will be building a new system to manage calendars and booking, providing better internal tools for managing tennis courts and coaches’ schedules, and an automated plaform for customers to book and pay for lessons and events. Our goal is to have this initial system pushed out by mid-Fall, with continuing development as we gather feedback.
See the attached PDF for a fuller breakdown of what work has been done, what features we are planning to build, and what the path forward will look like after the initial phase of development is concluded.
Please share this information with your departments and reach out to me if you have any questions or concerns.
